GROUP HISTORY

Meeting since April of 2002, DCBiWomen is an all-volunteer group interested in and committed to meeting the needs of the Washington DC / Baltimore area bisexual women's community.  We began by providing twice per month "open topic" nights meeting at Cafe Luna Books located on P Street in Washington DC.

As of January 2008 we have grown to over 553 email subscribers and have, on average, 150 women who actively take part in our various events. We typically have 20 to 25 women in attendance at each meeting.

Today, our meetings alternate between two types of facilitated formats -- open forum discussions and a topic-based format.  Topics under consideration can be viewed on our Meeting Topics page. Group members are also being asked to help facilitate some of the meetings.

Social events are hosted periodically but typically women get together on an informal basis and go to Ladies Nights at the local clubs.

As an organization, we hope to continue to evolve to identify and respond to the changing needs of our community, offering events and services that will be beneficial to the personal and community growth of bisexual women of Washington.
