1. When you reply to an email -- especially if it is long
-- delete the text from the previous email (the one you are responding
to). If you want to excerpt part of it that you are responding
to, please cut and paste only the relevant section. Our mailboxes
fill up fast as you can see, no need to repeat what's already
been sent.
This is especially important if you receive this list via Daily
Digest, as an unedited reply will copy the ENTIRE digest. We know
that some email programs automatically copy the entire email when
you hit the reply button. If you can't figure out how to change
this option, please contact us and we will try to help you.
2. Do not include graphics or large file attachments.
If you want to share a photo, greeting card, or other attachment
with the group, post a hyperlink to it. If the item is not currently
on the web, there are many free website vehicles out there so
you can create your own web page and post your photos, etc. There
are also services like Snapfish. Finally, you can also upload
photos to your yahoo profile, if you have one.
3. When asking a question to only one person please email
them off list.
4. Please sign your posts. People have no way of knowing
who you are if you don't type your name at the bottom of your
post. This is especially important if your email address is something
like dpr1540 @something.com.
5. Please do not post entire articles or other copyrighted
material to the list. This is illegal and violates the Terms
of Service under which Yahoo allows us to exist. Please provide
a hyperlink to the article instead. Note that posting a short
excerpt from a copyrighted article is fine.
